Dear HGSD Parents, Staff and Community,                                                                          December 18, 2020

Season’s Greetings everyone!  We are almost to the winter break and I want to continue thanking all of you for your efforts to follow the COVID-19 protocols and stay healthy and safe.   The pandemic has certainly been a trying time for all of us and with the added stress of the holidays, I’m incredibly proud that we have been able to stay open.

Next week, December 21, 22, and 23, are the last three days of instruction before the winter break.

   The Middle School schedule is:

Monday, December 21st-Cohort 1 students attend in person, Cohort 2 students attend virtually

Tuesday, December 22nd -Cohort 1 students attend in person, Cohort 2 students attend virtually

Wednesday, December 23rd- Cohort 2 students attend in person, Cohort 1 students attend virtually

   The High School Schedule is:

Monday, December 21st-Cohort 1 students attend in person, Cohort 2 students attend virtually

Tuesday, December 22nd -Cohort 1 students attend in person, Cohort 2 students attend virtually

Wednesday, December 23rd- Cohort 2 students attend in person, Cohort 1 students attend virtually

*Monday is an A day and Tuesday is a B day for all Students as normal.  However, we will be repeating a B day on Wednesday for all students to make up for a B day that was lost earlier in the term.   Please contact the HS office if you have any questions.

Northview will have in person learning all three days next week.

Beginning January 4th, we will be offering free breakfast to all students at the Middle and High School, through the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).   The program will begin at Northview on January 25th.  The breakfast menu can be found on our school website under “Food Service”. Similar to the free lunches offered, this free breakfast program is part of the federal government’s COVID relief efforts. The free breakfast program will conclude at the end of the 2020-21 school year. At the end of the school year we will evaluate whether to continue the breakfast program in 2021-22. If the breakfast program continues it will be offered at a cost, unless the family qualifies for free or reduced lunch.

On Monday, December 21, we will be having our regular monthly meeting of the Board of Education at 7pm.  Please visit our website for the link to view the meeting.

Again, thank you for your help to stay safe and healthy.  Please let us know if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Chris Peterson, Scott Fritz, Heather Zizis, Jason Cole, Josh Swanson, and Tracy Bandt
