Dear HGSD Parents, Staff and Community,                                                       March 12th, 2021

I hope this letter finds all of you doing well and enjoying the nicer weather.  We have had another successful week of school.  Our attendance has been very good and the number of COVID cases as well as close contacts remains low.  Thank you for all of your efforts to keep staff and students safe and our district open.

The referendum will be on the ballot on April 6th and will be asking for $35 million dollars.  That amount will be for the construction of a new Middle School and new HVAC at Northview Elementary.  The High School will also receive a new secure entrance as well as a new roof and boiler.

We will be hosting an informational meeting in the Howards Grove Center for the Arts Auditorium on Monday March 22nd.  You will also be able to watch that meeting virtually on the Howards Grove Center for the Arts YouTube page. The meeting will be from 5:30-6:30 pm.

We are also hosting tours/open houses at the Middle School on March 17th and 24th from 6-7 pm.  These tours will be semi-guided and will give you an opportunity to see the current conditions of our Middle School.  Masks and social distancing will be required at these meetings.

There is a lot of important information regarding the upcoming referendum on our website including videos of the current issues as well as conceptual plans for what the new Middle School could look like.  If you haven’t visited the website lately, please do so as we are adding new information weekly.  http://www.hgsd.k12.wi.us/

Northview Elementary has virtual parent-teacher conferences on March 16 and March 18.  On these days, Kindergarten through fourth grade will be dismissed at 1:45 pm.  Junior Kindergarten on March 16 and March 18 are dismissed at their normal school time of 3:45 pm.

As always, thank you for your continued support of the Howards Grove School District.  Please do not hesitate to reach out to any of us if you have questions or concerns.

Sincerely, Chris Peterson, Scott Fritz, Heather Zizis, Jason Cole, Josh Swanson, and Tracy Bandt
