Dear HGSD Parents, Staff and Community,                                                       March 19th, 2021

This past Monday, March 15th, the Board of Education voted to return to a normal school day schedule following Spring Break.  Beginning the week of April 5th, Wednesday’s will return to our normal early release days, NOT ½ days. Wednesday dismissal times will be 2:00 pm at the Middle School and High School, and 2:50 pm at Northview.  Thank you for your continued efforts to keep staff and students safe and keep our buildings open.

A referendum will be on the ballot on April 6th and will be for $35 million dollars.  That amount will be for the construction of a new Middle School and new HVAC at Northview Elementary.  The High School will also receive a new secure entrance as well as a new roof and boiler.

We will be hosting an informational meeting in the Howards Grove Center for the Arts Auditorium on Monday March 22nd.  You will also be able to watch that meeting virtually on the Howards Grove Center for the Arts YouTube page. The meeting will be from 5:30-6:30 pm.

We are also hosting an open house at the Middle School on March 24th from 6-7 pm.  The tour will be semi-guided and will give you an opportunity to see the current conditions of our Middle School.  Masks and social distancing will be required at these meetings.

By now you should have received the district newsletter.  The newsletter included information about the upcoming referendum.  Additional information can be found on our website including videos of the current issues as well as conceptual plans for what the new Middle School could look like.  If you haven’t visited the website lately, please do so as we are adding new information weekly.  http://www.hgsd.k12.wi.us/

Reminder that we have Spring Break the week of March 29th –April 2nd.  Classes resume on April 5th.  The 3rd quarter will end on Friday March 26th

As always, thank you for your continued support of the Howards Grove School District.  Please do not hesitate to reach out to any of us if you have questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

Chris Peterson, Scott Fritz, Heather Zizis, Jason Cole, Josh Swanson, and Tracy Bandt
