3rd Grade

In math, the third grade team focuses on helping students develop a deep understanding of number concepts and relationships before they are taught traditional algorithms. Students must be able to explain how they got an answer, why an answer is correct or incorrect, and the thinking they used to solve a problem.

In writing, students do narrative, information, and persuasive types of writing.

For reading, students build a reading life, and become strong in nonfiction and fiction reading.
